Scope
Introduction to the design and operation of logistics infrastructures (Logistics Parks, Warehousing and Distribution Centers – WDCs or CDCs), facility layout, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and administrative organization.
Contents
- Structure of supply chains and types of WDCs/CDCs, the Location problem.
- Logistics Parks and Strategic design decisions (Master Layout).
- Internal spatial organization (storage systems, automation).
- Operational organization (Picking, packing, WMS, Bar coding).
- Administrative organization, Costing (Activity Based Costing), Outsourcing (3PL/4PL), and Reverse Logistics.
