Applied Thermodynamics - Thermal Power Stations

Tassos Stamatis was Assistant Professor  of  Applied Thermodynamics and Thermal Power Stations in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering of the University of Thessaly since July 2004.

He graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 1982, and received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the same Department in 1990.  From Mar. 1987 until Dec. 1988 he fulfilled his military service requirements in the Research Centre of Aviation.

From 1990 and up to the undertaking of his duties at the University Thessaly he worked as research associate and research senior in the Laboratory of Thermal Turbomachines of NTUA.

He taught courses on Parallel Programming, Design of Thermal systems, Linear Algebra, Theory of Optimisation, Internal Combustion Engines, Gas Turbines and CFD.

He involved in many research programs and has authored or co-authored 21 papers in refereed journals, 30 papers in Proceedings of International Conferences.

The research interests of Tassos Stamatis include Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Gas Dynamics  of Gas Turbine Engines, Modelling, Simulation and Diagnostics of Thermal Systems, methods of Diagnosis based on Artificial Intelligence, integrated Diagnostic Systems in Energy installations, Parallel computers and Parallel algorithms.
