As part of the Aerodynamics course, students of the department visited on May 15 the 1st Army Aviation Brigade and the 307 Army Aviation Support Battalion in Stefanovikeio, Magnesia. The students attended a lecture by helicopter pilots on the principles of flight and helicopter operation. Afterwards, they had the opportunity to closely observe various types of helicopters serving in the Hellenic Army Aviation, including the UH-1 (Huey), AH-64 Apache A and D, as well as the OH-58 Kiowa Warrior.

They were then welcomed by the commander of the 307 Army Aviation Support Battalion, whose mission is the repair and inspection of the base’s helicopters. Finally, a tour was given of the 307 Battalion facilities, where the students had the chance to speak with the base’s technicians and officers and to see up close various helicopter components.
