Eight professors of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DMM) appear in the recent list (October 2022) that includes the top 2% of researchers worldwide, for the year 2021, according to a study by a group of experts at Stanford University. They are professors Tsiakaras, Papadimitriou, Aravas, Karamanos, Ziliaskopoulos, Stamatellos, Papathanasiou, and Haidemenopoulos. The study evaluated over 8,000,000 scientists worldwide and came up with a list of 195,605 leading representatives of all scientific fields.
Thirty professors of the University of Thessaly appear on this list, according to a publication of the newspaper “Tachydromos.”
This ranking is yet another recognition of the high-level research conducted at DMM by faculty members, researchers, and students. We are confident that this level will increase even more with the planned transition of DMM to a new modern building and the attraction of new high-level faculty members.
